What is cloud computing?

now a days ever where i go , i hear about cloud computing what the hell is cloud computing , pls give me a example .|||another example of cloud computing is "chrome os"|||Where all your data is stored online, like your email or Google Wave or Office Live. Personally I dont like it and prefer it.
