Cloud computing - Best example/description of what cloud computing could represent 100+ years ago(for a paper)?
Anytime period of at least a 100 years ago. So back then what would be the best example of how cloud computing works. Need help for my paper. So again what can cloud computing best be depicted as from history.|||Cloud computing implies remote storage, backup and access, so libraries come to mind.
Any Advice on Cloud Computing ?
Hi, I am working professional. I want to change my career. Can I study Cloud Computing? If yes which are the certification available? And what is the Course Fee? Is it worth of studying for future ?|||Cloud computing will be increasingly important in the future ... this is a 48 credit program, 16 courses, whereas most similar programs are 10 or 12 courses. At $656/credit, the total tuition cost comes out to $31,488 which is not cheap.|||interesting question... you see, cloud computing is essentially computing from the internet (cloud). you would really end up studying the internet. im sure there are colleges that have a course maybe in the history of the internet or networking, but i can't say ive heard of a cloud computing certificate... im sorry, but networking is a VERY interesting topic.

Three categories of Cloud Computing?
I need more clarity on the three categories of Cloud Computing - IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. What purpose do these serve? As a user, do i have the option of using only one service amongst the three or do they always come together? How do these three differ from the three layers of Cloud Computing - Application, Platform and Infrastructure? Again, can I avail of just one?|||IaaS. Infrastructure as a Service. PaaS. Platform as a Service. SaaS. Software as a Service. SaaS. Software as a Service|||SaaS is Software as a service . As the name indicates software is provided as a service .ex a music player is in remote server and you can listen a music file in that player.
PaaS is Platform as a service. It provides a platform as a service . Suppose i hav a java file bt dont hav a JDE. i can run my java file in this service since a platform is provided via cloud.
IaaS-Infrastructure as a service.it provides a whole infrastructure which includes software, storage, platform etc ex any mail servers (where client app , storage etc are provided)
hav a luk at it :

Is cloud computing like clustering?
i plan on making a Linux cluster ( for media purposes) using a couple of spare computers i have. I really wanna use ubuntu (since most of the the packages im using are .deb and im used to the bash) for the cluster. I just looked on the ubuntu server web page info and it says i can use cloud computing. SOO to make a long story short is cloud computing like clustering?|||No, nothing so specific. It's a vague term meaning "putting your data somewhere out there on the internet" and usually with programs on related web sites which can operate on it rather than running programs on your own computer.
It's reminiscent of the "wheel of reincarnation" concept from the early days of computers, where you'd have a mainframe and terminals to operate it (analagous to the server and your computer), but over time the terminals became smarter and smarter until they became computers in their own right. But then we started getting remote access to those from "dumb terminals" ... which became smarter, and so the wheel turned.|||Here's a good video how Cloud Computing works

Cloud computing with Linux OS?
i read in many sites that Linux OS is the best OS for cloud computing. is that true?
and if true, what about the processing time, security?
and what are the advantages and disadvantages of using it for cloud computing?|||The benefits of cloud computing鈥攁ccessing your data and applications stored on remote hardware by way of the Internet instead of keeping it all in your local workstation鈥攕till requires a leap of logic for many. But now that a workstation can go anywhere as a smartphone, a stripped-down netbook, or even an e-book reader, it's practically a virtual desktop operating in conjunction with a virtual server anyway. If the user can be anywhere, so can the source for data and applications.|||Your going to have to explain what you mean by "cloud computing" because it means a whole lot of different things to different people.
Do you mean:
Using a low powered device (netbook or tablet) to access applications on the web using a browser?
Or
Using a central server as a collaborative meeting site were multiple workstations share data
Or
Using leased computing power to set up virtual machines to dynamically add computing power on demand
Or
Using a distributed computing model where hundreds or thousands of computers to form a supercomputer over the Internet
There are other descriptions, but you get the idea.
"Cloud computing is just a buzzword. You'll need to decide what model you are talking about before there can be a real answer to your question.
